Do you believe?
That question broke into my waking brain as my 5:30 am alarm went off. I snoozed the alarm and rolled over, but the question only became more persistent.
A song went through my mind, one of the Scripture songs that I play during my paperwork time in hopes of memorizing it.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26 (NKJV)
The phrase “though he may die, he shall live” caught me. I rolled over and pulled up MySword app on my phone. What a contradiction! How could one possibly die yet live? It sounded a lot like the quantum physics videos I was watching the other day; how can two seemingly contradictory states—death and life-- exist at the same time?
The phrase “yet shall he live” is one word:
Dzao
It means:1
I.To live, breathe, be among the living (not lifeless, not dead)
II.to enjoy real life
to have true life and worthy of the name
active, blessed, endless in the kingdom of God
III.to live i.e. pass life, in the manner of the living and acting
of mortals or character
IV.living water, having vital power in itself and exerting the same upon the soul
V.metaph. to be in full vigour
to be fresh, strong, efficient,
as adj. active, powerful, efficacious
I need this type of life.
I feel like I have been living dead inside; going through the motions of life without enjoying what I was doing, having no power, not strong or efficient. I need this life.
I continued my study.
“Believe” in Greek pisteuō2
To think true, to be entrusted with, to trust with
Do I believe that God has entrusted me with a homeopathy business to run?
With being part of a family?
With precious souls to reach for His kingdom and glory?
Do I believe that God can bring what is dead inside of me back to life?
Yes. He can and will.
Isaiah 28:16 tells me that He who believes on the tried stone shall not make haste.
“Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.” (KJV)
That phrase “shall not make haste” is one word in Hebrew which can mean – to hurry, to be eager with excitement and enjoyment.
So the verse Isaiah 28:16 could read: the one who believes and puts her trust in the Tried Stone shall live eager with excitement and enjoyment.
My prayer:
Heavenly Father, I want that type of life. Birth that in me, Yeshua. I choose to believe in Your tried and true foundation, You are my rock and foundation. And what You have given me today to stand on is good and I choose to live life eager with excitement and enjoyment because of WHO YOU are. In Yeshua’s precious name. Amen.
May you too, dear reader, believe our amazing Savior and Lord today, Yeshua our Messiah.
